Alex Chan is the cofounder and CEO of Asia Tenaga Sdn. Bhd.  His vision for Asia Tenaga is that Sustainable Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency are complementary.  Asia Tenaga wants to play a key role and to be the leader in Renewable Energy sector for Malaysia, ASEAN and OIC. Our aim is to enable everyone to benefit from a sustainable, cost effective, affordable clean energy solution, reliable, scalable and environmental friendly renewable power production as an alternative to fossil fuel energy.  Connecting the last mile is also our goal – we want to provide clean and affordable energy to remote places or islands.  We further aim to ensure an attractive return on investment for our clients and strategic partners.

He has over 20 years of experience in the Power, Transmission and Distribution sector.  In 2008, he founded and managed a T&D (Power Transmission & Distribution) company in China with offices in Hong Kong, India and Paraguay specializing in Extra High Voltage (400kV and above).  His company successfully penetrated markets in India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Syria, Paraguay, Chile and Ecuardo averaging an annual revenue of about USD$40 million in providing expert consultation and supplying products and equipment up to 765kV.

In his vast career experience, he has worked in US at major corporations like IBM, Qualcomm Inc., United Airlines, Discover Card and Sears & Roebuck holding various management positions.  During his career, he has developed and launched new products, lead M&E teams, setup new companies and subsidiaries, structured tax strategies, lead sales and marketing teams and project management.  Alex is also certified in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Project Management Professional.

Alex Chan holds an EMBA (Executive MBA) from Northern Illinois University, USA and a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Ohio State University, USA.
