Dr. Christian Bernauer

Dr. Christian Bernauer studied Electrical Engineering in Vienna (Austria). He received his PhD degree from the Technical University of Vienna on the field of discharges in vacuum interrupters.
He has worked for 30 years in the high voltage design of Vacuum Switchgear up to 36kV, Air Insulated Disconnectors in the voltage range from 123 to 800 kV, medium voltage cable joints and terminations and OHTL-fittings up to 800kVDC–
From 1990 to 2021 his management career spans over different countries in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and India. He has worked for many top reputable companies in the Power Transmission & Distribution industries like Calor-Emag (an ABB subsidiary, Vacuum circuit breakers), AEG (High voltage disconnectors), Mosdorfer (Part of the KNill group, OHTL fittings), Ruhrtal (Siemens subsidiary, high voltage disconnectors), RIBE (OHTL fittings), CELLPACK (Cable joints, Plugs and terminations), VEM Sachsenwerk (Motors, Generators) and OHV Diagnostic (Partial discharge measuring and monitoring systems) and ASBESCO (India) Private Limited.
He has managed a wide variety of projects from front end development through to detail engineering, construction support and commissioning.
